Transfers, Church Tours & Rain Galore!

Monday: For our district activity we dyed some plain white tees which was really fun, then played some volleyball and 3 hit kill at the park!! That night we made some calls, and stopped by a couple of previously taught people!

Tuesday: Transfer day was a regular Tuesday for me and Elder Novac. We will be staying together for another 6 weeks! Knocked some doors and ran into a salesman who said that everything we did was good, except we asked questions. So ever since then we've been trying to figure out how to get a return appointment or someone that wants to learn more without asking a yes or no question! Then we had a great visit with the Merrill's, they invited us out to dinner, they brought Vicki White! Someone missionaries have taught in the past which was great and we were able to get to know her better!!

Wednesday: District council on obedience went super good and was really spirit lead! Then had a church tour with Judy!!! Brought the Boyce's as fellowship, they were instant friends, invited her to a Relief Society activity that she went to and loved, said it felt like a family!! Went to Thousand Oaks to have our car mirror fixed, turns out it's too expensive and not worth it to fix, but got to eat at, "Bad A** Tacos" which were really good!!

Thursday: Pretty regular missionary day, knocked a lot of doors, had a good visit with Sister Fowler who has an amazing testimony, and talked to one of her nice neighbors!

Friday: It rained all day!!!! Super fun to be out in, but not very many people were out, which ment we got to knock a lot of doors! Met with Evan and his wife Brooke. Got to know them both! Their daughter and her friends came upstairs and asked us so many different questions we could hardly answer them all! But Evan and Brooke are doing great!

Saturday: Rained all day again! But we went and did service for a nice lady named Trish. We were supposed to have a lesson with Jason, someone we have recently gotten back in contact with, but he canceled... So that was a bummer, but we kept working and invited a bunch of people to church!

Sunday: loved the messages in our sacrament meeting! They were focused on taking Jesus Christ's name upon us and always remembering Him! A missionary gave his farewell so we're gonna get him out with us a couple times!

Last Week of the Transfer

Monday: Hiked Mount Boney, which is 5 miles up and 5 miles back. Definitley the hardest hike I have done on my mission. But it was super fun, and I got lots of great pictures! Then we went to a park as a distric and played Volleyball, which was also fun! That night we visited with the Sherwood family who are super nice!!!

Tuesday: Had the last District Council of the transfer. We talked about Faith and what it means to endure to the end, because week 6 of transfers can be tough to push through. We got a refferral and were really excited to go stop by. We did and it was the right person, but as soon as she opened the door she said, "I am not interested in your religion" and shut the door bummer... We had a discussion with Dan, who bashed us pretty hard. He doesn't like Joseph Smith, the Book of Mormon, he's big into the trinity, and very well versed in the Bible. But we bore pure testimony and left, so hopefully he felt something!

Wednesday: We had a good lesson with our friend Judy. Talked about faith, and how important it is! Had a pretty slow day other than that and a great visit with the Call famlily. Brother Call's great grandfather founded Brigham City, so that was pretty cool to know lol.

Thursday: Tried to stop by a lot of less actives to see if they needed anything as well as see if any of their neighbors would be interested in a mesage about Jesus Christ. All were nice, not interested in coming back, but did appreciated the stop by! Met with the Baldwins who are awesome members, and have a son we're going to bring on splits with us!!!

Friday: Had some fun service in the morning. We helped move rocks and break up a cement pad in their backyard! Tracted a lot and knocked into 1 agnostic, 1 athiest, and a couple of really nice fellow Christians who were interested in Lamb of God(muiscal production), but not our message... Talked to Oscar who is very passionate about the craziness of the world and how so many need God in their lives!

Saturday: Highlight of the day was definitely when we met Evan! Went looking for his wife, he let us in and we talked about our purpose as missionaries, the message that we share, and why it's important to us. He loved it, has friends in the church, and wants to get involved to help us spread the good word! So we're excited to hopefully continue to teach him and his wife! Invited a lot of people to church!!!

Sunday: Had a great sacrament about how Jesus Christ is our strength. I loved the Sunday School lesson about the sermon on the mount and when we are humble, meek, kind, then we are blessed and are able to endure! We had the departing missionary testimony zoom, which was super good!!

Walk Day & Rolly Chair

Monday: For our district activity we went to the driving range, hit some balls, drove the golf cart around, and then got donuts afterwards! Had a great visit with the Badurek family that night!!!

Tuesday: Had District Council about diligence and how to make sure that all we do is to help others come closer to Christ and make contacts more meaningful! Then we had our lesson with Judy, talked a lot about the restoration, prophets of old and how our prophets today are the same. Later that day we did a lot of stop by's and tried to contact those who haven't talked with missionaries in a while!

Wednesday: Finished daily planning and I got a call from someone that I had been messaging from Nigeria. He wanted to know more about how he can grow his relationship with God, I shared about the Book of Mormon helping me and he wanted one. So I got his address and sent the referral to the missionaries in his area. They met with him on Saturday! Got in contact with Rick Butler, someone who has been taught in the past but hasn't shown much interest. We talked to him for about 15 minutes and he expressed interest in attending church(didn't come this week but we'll get him)!

Thursday: Did service for Trish, a super sweet old woman, had a zoom about Rootstech, weekly planned and set some sweet goals for the week, texted a lot of people about Rootstech, met with the Crain family who are super nice and the Congelliere's who are also sweet!

Friday: Had a lot of finding time today, met a lot of nice people, who weren't super interested in our message, but took some interest in Rootstech, so hopefully after that event they will want to learn more about the church! Got in contact with Jenna who had talked to missionaries in the past, but never been taught. She really wants to learn more about our church!! Met with the Lewis family who was awesome, as well as the Boyce family who are great too!!!

Saturday: Walk day!!! Walked a lot,and talked to a lot of people! While we were walking around we saw two rolly chairs outside of a garage, asked them if we could take them, they let us go back after we were done walking around. When we picked it up we talked to Doug, who has had friends' serve missions, isn't too interested in joining a religion, but said we could go back!! So now I can study in a nice chair!!!

Sunday: We had talks on the love the God and Jesus Christ have for us and what we need to do to better feel that love. I loved the lesson on "Overcome the World and Find Rest" by President Russel M. Nelson. I love this quote, "The truth is that it is much more exhausting to seek happiness where you can never find it! However, when you yoke yourself to Jesus Christ and do the spiritual work required to overcome the world, He, and He alone, does have the power to lift you above the pull of this world" So I challenge you all to find a way to better yoke yourself with the Savior(study the scriptures more, attend the temple, pray often, etc.) I know that your burdens will become lighter and you will be able to overcome the world!! Later that night we had a visit with the Busch's!!!

Zone Conference & Exchange

Monday: Started off the week great! We played Laser tag in the gym, tipped over some tables to make barricades, and had a blast! That night we had a great visit with the Adam's family and did some Facebook work!

Tuesday: Had a lot of finding time today, which was nice! We were out and about talked to a lot of people, knocked on a lot of doors, everyone was nice just not interested... Then that night we had a mini miracle! We were planning on going to stop by a member we haven't seen much at church, but there's a gate into the complex we didn't know the code to, but as we pulled up a car was going out, we went in and had a great 30 minute talk with them, and her husband isn't a member but loves the church so hopefully we can teach him!! 

Wednesday: Had a great lesson with our friend Judy, taught about faith, repentance baptism, gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end! She took it well, but still doesn't see that there is one true church... we'll get her though! Had service at the James Storehouse which is always nice, then I was able to give a baptismal interview. The zone leaders have someone who is ready to be baptized on Feb 12 and the interview went great! The joy I felt after that interview knowing that he was ready to be baptized was incredible!! 

Thursday: Zone Conference was amazing! I got to see a lot of friendly faces and had lots of fun catching up with them! We talked a lot about working with members and how to get them involved, as well as the importance the Book of Mormon and how it can answer any question! So if you made it this far in this email, I encourage you to take a question you have, flip open the Book of Mormon starting anywhere and look for the answer, let me know if you don't find one!!! Later that day we had a nice discussion with Dan, who was basically trying to "save" us the entire time, we left him with a Book of Mormon, and went on our way. 

Friday: Had lunch with a super sweet lady named Trish who is Catholic. We were able to talk about our beliefs, craziness in the world, how Christ brings us peace, and then she asked if we could do se service for her! Met with the Armstromg family. They have been around the church for a while, just have some resolvable concerns at the moment. But we shared a scripture with them and hopefully can start teaching them and solve the concerns! 

Saturday: Went on an exchange with the zone leaders. I went with Elder Hadfield in his area. We had some cool experiences while talking to people in the park, we were able to get their numbers and leave them with a pamphlet. Talked to a man from Russia with a super thick accent, and he wants a Russian Book of Mormon!! Had a great member dinner with the Miscena's in Elder Hadfields area. Her husband is a non member, but super nice. We had a discussion about the Book of Mormon, and how it answers our questions! 

Sunday: Great day, had nice testimonies, and loved talking about overcoming temptation in Sunday school. Had a great visit with our ward mission leader Brother Pace and his family! Also we're able to meet with the Joiner's who haven't been active for a long time, but they're super nice and will hopefully feel comfortable enough to come back!!!
