Sick Days.....

Monday: Went on a hike for our district exercise. Went up to a nice waterfall. Went back to the church and played some basketball. Then that night we just stopped by some people that had been taught in the past as well as some cool members!

Tuesday: Had interviews with President Carter which are always a nice, he was able to answer some question I had, as well as give me some advice on how to be a better missionary! The rest of the day we just did lots of finding. Then we went to the McLeod family's house and had a fun visit with them!

Wednesday: Had a great district council about having affective studies, as well as relying on the Spirit when we teach. It went really well! Then we had service at the James Storehouse, got to show off my window washing skills (that I don't really have), which was fun! Then we got home from that and Elder Novac had a headache, body aches, and a cough so we just stayed in and did a bunch of Facebook work!

Thursday: Had a mission zoom about supporting our companions as well as ways we can become more unified. Then we were supposed to have service but Elder Novac was still sick so we didn't go. Had our weekly planning session, then stayed inside all day because Elder Novac wasn't able to go out...

Friday: Had a great zoom about how to better find on Facebook through 5 ways. Which really helped, because Elder Novac was still feeling horrible so we were able to practice those 5 ways to find!

Saturday: We were able to get out of the house and do some service! Pulled some weeds for an older lady who is friends with someone in our ward. She was a sweet British lady, and appreciated our service!

Sunday: Had church, the talks were centered on how Christ is our strength and when we look to Him we can make it through anything! Then we went out and talked to the Armstrong family, the mom is interested and has good friends in the church. We were able to talk to them while driving some RC cars which was really fun.

Had really good studies this week in the war chapters of the Book of Mormon. I love Moroni and his preparation, for war against the Lamanites. Which reminded me of the talk, "Overcome the World and Find Rest" by President Russel M. Nelson. I invite you all to read that talk and find ways to strengthen yourself spiritually for the war against the adversary!

Sunny Days!

Monday: Had a great district activity! We played basketball, as well as some pickleball and it was so much fun!! That night we had a visit with the Fletchers, and they are a great family!!

Tuesday: Had District Council, had discussions on having faith in Christ and how that helps us to find. As well as how the Book of Mormon and Bible work together! Stopped by some less actives and got to know them, as well as some people that past missionaries have talked to. One of which is Austin, he's friends with a high schooler in our ward, so hopefully we can get him to activities and start teaching him!
Wednesday: Had a lesson with our friend Judy , who loves the Bible so we read a lot out of there about Christ and what He did on the earth, which went pretty well! It was a little rough becuase I am not too familiar with the Bible, but I definitley was guided by the Spirit to a couple of scriptures, which was really cool and a testimony builder for me! We went to the James Storehouse, which is a place that families can go to for clothing, food, toys, etc. So we just helped sort things, which was nice and the people there love the help we provide! Thursday: We did service for a super sweet lady named Charlotte, we just moved some simple things around for her, but she appreciated it! Then we taught our friend Noel about the Holy Ghost and the comfort, guidance, peace, and love that it brings to us! Met with the Lowary famlily(super great family), then Bishop Johnson said they had some left over pizza so he gave us a box and it was a big pizza!!!
Friday: Met with a recent convert and got to know her and her kids, they are super nice family. Knocked a lot of doors today with not a lot of success, but just gotta keep working hard!
Saturday: Talked with quite a few people between houses that we would knock, they just weren't interested... Played a little bit of soccer with some kids in the street which was really fun. Went to a house that said they weren't super friendly, they invited us in and gave us some chips and salsa to eat, we talked about our missionary purpose and what we do. They have friends and family in the church so hopefully they will come around!! Sunday: Had Stake Conference. They talked a lot about staying on the covenant path, attending the temple, and the blessing that come from living the Gospel. Elder Woolsey a area 70 presided and he was super nice to talk with! We stopped by our friends Matt, Brooke, and Ella. They are doing good, just are hard to catch. So hopefully the next time we go by we can teach them more!! Met with the Busch family, they are super cool and know some people from Perry!
Love you all and encourage you to attend the temple, and recognize the blessings that come from living the gospel of Jesus Christ!

Rain Rain and More Rain

Monday: Last preparation day of the transfer, woke up and found out I was going to Newbury Park and I was going to be a district leader, whitewashing with my new comp Elder Novac. Went to the church for our district activity and played some basketball!! That night we had a zoom visit with the Wager family, because of the rain we were told to stay inside because of flooded roads!

Tuesday: Transfers were canceled, we were stuck inside until noon because of more rain, and then me and Elder Anderson went to lunch and we saw Bishop Terry and I said one last goodbye(should've taken a pic) then we went out and knocked on some friends and they didn't answer... made some calls, then had a great zoom visit with the Peterson family!

Wednesday: Transfer day! Got to the mission office at 6:30am, got to talk to a lot of missionaries, found my new companion Elder Novac, drove to the apartment, then settled in, went shopping. That night we showed up at the church, played some dodgeball with the youth, met Bishop Johnson, and did some Facebook!

Thursday: First district council went really good, I gave a discussion on the power and authority of a missionary and I think it went well... Later that day we had service with the Spanish Elders and that was nice! Had a great visit with our ward mission leader Brother Pace!

Friday: Different service with the Spanish Elders, we just moved a couple treadmills. Went tracting for the first time, talked to some nice people and found a super chill young adult named Cody, he's interested in the Plan of Salvation so we're stopping by again this week!

Saturday: Not much happened, tried a lot of people missionaries talked to in the past, but no one answered. Met with the Barrus family, the Pace family, and the Jones family. So we could get to know the ward better!

Sunday: Had Ward council, then sacrament was great with talks on ministering in the Saviors way! Sunday school about the birth of Jesus Christ was awesome! Knocked a lot of people the previous missionaries knew, but had no luck. Had a great visit with the Badurek family that night!!

Love you all, hope you have an amazing week!!!

Rainy Week

Rainy Week

Monday: For our district activity we went and played some sand volleyball, and basketball! That night we had a great visit with the Jenkins!

Tuesday: Had a great last district council of the transfer, we talked about how no effort is wasted, and how to effectively plan. Stopped by Margeret and talked about the peace the Book of Mormon brings.

Wednesday: We went on an adventure in the north area of our zone that is up the hill, that was really fun, we knocked on a lot of less active, or non member dots. Went up there for a lesson, the man wasn't there but we took pictures of the amazing view from his house. His wife was home and didn't want to be taught but let is us in the backyard. Had a pretty good lesson with David and the chapters he read(Luke 2, James 1) and the significance of those chapters. Then did a bunch of calls that night.

Thursday: Had an amazing impromptu lesson with Ellie, we taught her the restoration and gave her a Book of Mormon that my family painted and wrote a testimony in. She loved the painting and testimony inside and was excited to read it! That night we had dinner with the Contreras family, they are so nice! We also did some service for them afterwards!

Friday: Not a while lot happened today, we just went finding a lot, and knocked a lot of people that we haven't been able to meet yet, and tried to set up lessons with them! During lunch Elder Cosentino came and said hi because his companion was at the temple and he was with Hokanson and Walsman for the day. That night, me and Elder Anderson both started teaching Facebook friends about the Book of Mormon so that was awesome!

Saturday: Had a nice lesson with Mark after moving something for him. Went to a baptism with David and he enjoyed it. Later that night we met a cool man named Kent!

Sunday: Great fast Sunday! A couple of our friends said they would make it, but didn't... but the testimonies were great! Had a fun visit with the Rossini family, and were able to watch the Elder Holland Devotional for our dinner hour. He is an Apostle of the Lord, and I'm grateful for the message of hope from him and his wife!

Have a good week, I encourage you all to find hope through Jesus Christ and share that with others.

Last week of 2022

Monday: District activity we went to the park and had a picnic then kicked around a soccer ball, threw a Frisbee, and a football. That night we did lots of calls because our lesson with David fell through... then did some Facebook work!

Tuesday: Had a great district council on obedience and accountability. Then we had the privilege to bike around in the rain! Talked to a handful of people, knocked a lot becuase no one was out becuase of the rain. Didn't see a whole lot of success but found a lot of joy doing the work in the rain!

Wednesday: Exchange with Hokanson and Walsman. Hokanson came in my area, we found 2 people, and got in contact with Terry, who is super busy, but now has a Book of Mormom! Had a good zoom visit with the Staker family, shared about what all Jesus Christ has done for us!

Thursday: Had a combined companionship study with the Zone Leaders, and they focused a lot on the finding the one, and strengthening ways go be able to find the one. Then we had great service where we trimmed an orange tree and got to take home lots! Had a super fun Visit with the Hachtman family's. One from out of town that was here for the Rose Bowl, other one is in our ward, they have 8 boys combined. Shared a message about making it back to live with God, and how we are able to do that!

Friday: Another exchange with Hokanson and Walsman. This time I went with Walsman in his area and it was my first time driving on the mission, which was super fun! We had lots of fun, we went to the mall and tried to talk to as many people as possible, 2 of them were Hispanic and we called the Zone Leaders to talk to them for us lol. We had a great impromptu member visit with the Steele family, where we talked about the blessings God gives is and how they are uncountable!

Saturday: Had major bike problems... my brakes weren't working, so we spent our lunch trying to fix it, kind of fixed my back brake so I could manage, but still not quite good enough. But we went out, and tried to reach some of the less active members as well as some friends we haven't talked to for a while. Got a package from home that helped us ring in the new year!

Sunday: First day of 2023 was pretty good! Had personal study before church, had a great sacrament meeting with talks about the Plan of Salvation! That night we had an awesome departing testimony meeting!
