Another Time On A Bike

Monday: Preparation day was pretty fun! For our district activity we went to the Sinaloa building and we had an art class from Elder Macurdy, we learned how to draw a whale, hand, and a face. So that was really fun!! Then we went to FHE and played human battleship and it was fun!

Tuesday: Exchange day!!!! I was able to go on an exchange with Elder Thomas and Elder Chang, because Elder Cosentino went with Elder Barton because he is a new missionary. We did some fun service at For the Troops and then had a pretty regular day, I was just not in my area.

Wednesday: We got Elder Barton for the day because the zone leaders went and had an exchange with the assistants. It was pretty fun to be in another trio for a day. Then we had tech training and we learned how to post effectively on Facebook. Then we went to the Institute and learned about the Atonement and went really in depth with it and it was super cool!!

Thursday: Interview day!!! President and Sister Carter came down to Simi Valley and we had interviews with them and got to have a nice lunch with our whole zone!!Then we had a lesson with Jorge and WE PUT HIM ON DATE!!! It is about time, and he is so excited!!

Friday: Today was pretty good! I got to lead a discussion for our district council and it was about helping people make and keep commitments, and I think it went well!  We had a lesson with Thomas and talked about Christ and his earthly ministry and he understood it and it was good! Then we had a good lesson with Brother Morrow!

Saturday: Exchange day!!!! I went with Elder Macurdy in his area and I got to be on bikes again!! This time around I biked farther than I have ever biked in my whole life lol... We biked from one end of the area to the other, but it was a really fun day and my butt hurt really bad at the end of the day!

Sunday: We had a really nice Stake Conference and we got to hear from President and Sister Carter, and also the stake Patriarch and the Stake President, so that was super good! It was all focused on Jesus Christ and it was really awesome!

First Bike Experience

Monday: It was a fun preparation day! We went to the driving range here in Simi Valley then went to Chick-fil-a for lunch so that was great! Then we just sat at the building and called family and emailed!

Tuesday: We did some service for the Seventh Day Adventist church, we dug out some tumbleweeds and that was not fun, it was pokey, and gave me and Elder Cosentino some rashes, but it was a good service. Then it was a pretty regular day after that!

Wednesday: My first experience on bikes! We went on an exchange with Elder Macurdy and Elder Sutherland and I went into their area with Elder Sutherland, and I got to be on bikes! It was so much fun and we were able to see some awesome miracles while biking around! And the exchange was really good! Also Elder Macurdy wrote a riddle and hid some of my stuff and Elder Cosentinos stuff in Jell-O so that was cool to figure out.

Thursday: We had an apartment inspection, so we deep cleaned our apartment, and then we did a workshop over zoom that is for missionaries within their first 12 weeks, and that was really cool, then we had a lesson with Jorge and he is softly on date for Oct. 15th we just need to put it on the calendar so that exciting! and we had a cool lesson with a fun member family, the Mosley's

Friday: District council where we talked about how to teach with power and authority and how to better teach by and with the Spirit! Then after that we had a nice member lesson with a member, brother Morrow, and we got a hold of one of our friends we haven't had contact with for a while!!

Saturday: Had a fun lesson with a friend named Thomas who is interested in learning about religion, then went to lunch with a really cool member who is less active, then we went to a dinner with our bishop!

Sunday: Pretty regular Sunday, we went to both wards and then had our studies and then had a nice dinner with the Pollard family and I got to talk about soccer with them so that was way fun!

First Week of New Transfer

Monday: A pretty good preparation day! Me Elder Cosentino, Elder MaCurdy, and Elder Wilber went and got lunch at a place called Sapporo Sushi and Izadaya and it was pretty good! Then we went to the church and hung out for a while and said our goodbyes to Elder Wilber because he is leaving to go up to Lompoc.

Tuesday: Transfer Tuesday was fun!! We drove up to the mission office for transfer train and there were a lot of missionaries in one spot and everyone knew everyone except for me... So I kind of just stood there while everyone caught up with the missionaries they have served around. Then we took Elder MaCurdy and his new companion Elder Sutherland back to their apartment and took them shopping, then Elder Johnson and Elder Starkey their bikes. Then went on like it was a regular day.

Wednesday: Pretty fun day that had some unexpected service. We got a call from a member in a different ward, but they were doing it in our area. So we went  and helped them can tomatoes, and for those that know me, I don't like tomatoes, but I still helped out and canned them!!!

Thursday: It was a pretty normal day overall, nothing too big happened. We just met with Jorge and talked about tithing and how he's doing. He is still deciding on a day to be baptized but he is thinking of the middle of October, so hopefully I'm here for that.

Friday: First district council of the transfer and it was so fun! It was cool to learn from all the other missionaries, and also get to know the new ones that came in! Then we had a member lesson with Brother Morrow and he's doing really well!

Saturday: Walk day was pretty sad because we walked around for an hour and didn't see anyone and it was really humid outside. Then we had a lesson with the Bishop of the YSA ward Bishop Murphy and he took us to "Fast and Fresh Mexican Food" and it was really good!

Sunday: It was a pretty regular Sunday. We just had ward council, and went to both wards sacrament meetings and Jorge came again!! Then we had a fun dinner with the White's, Beazers, and Sister Wolf. I laughed a whole lot and got to know them really well!

Last Week of the Transfer

Monday: 19th birthday!!!! But we didn't do anything super special. It was just a normal preparation day, nothing too big happened. I just went to lunch with the district at Chick-fil-A, then hung out at the church for a while and emailed and called family. Then I went home and opened some packages that I got for my birthday.

Tuesday: Had a fun experience this day, we got out of the car and a lady yelled from across the street, and asked if we were Christian, and we said yes, so she wanted us to go over and pray with her because her father passed away a year ago and she was getting closer to finding out if he was murdered.... So it was nice that we got to pray with her. Then we knocked on the door we were planning on, because this house had requested a Book of Mormon, so we went to give it to him and he yelled at us for soliciting and didn't even let us tell him why we were there.

Wednesday: We had a 6 week missionary zoom for all missionaries that have been out for 6 weeks lol who would've guessed. And that was super nice to see some familiar faces and be able to share and hear experiences with those that are going through the same thing as me.

Thursday: It got up to 105 degrees here in Simi this day and it was horrible. Luckily we had weekly planning that saved us from going out in the heat of the day. Then we went and had a baptismal interview for Jorge. He passed!!!! We are still working on a date, but it's exciting that he is taking that step!

Friday: The exciting thing that happened today was I got to play basketball at the park. I have wanted to try finding something like this for a really long time, and we finally were able to do it! So we went to the park at 7:00pm and there were about 10 people playing and we talked to them and they invited us to play and we did and got someone's number afterwards!!! That was awesome!!!

Saturday: Called a lot of people that have been in contact with missionaries before, and a couple answered and we set up lessons in a couple days. Then we had a good family dinner!

Sunday: Great fast Sunday and I love hearing all the testimonies! Then we had breakfast for break the fast, after YSA and that was some delicious pancakes!
